One Platform, Several Ways to Fix It — Carrier 05G Compressor 18-00097-07 and the R-05G-41 Rebuild Kit

18-00097-07 six-cylinder compressor · R-05G-41-TRAILER rebuild kit at 41 CFM and 2 port · shaft seal 17-44770-00 · crankshaft 17-44075-00 · 1 year warranty

Document type: platform reference | Platform: Carrier 05G | Warranty: 1 year

  • Overview
  • Recommended Products

1. The 05G Is a Platform, Not a Single Part

The Carrier 05G is one of the most widely fitted compressors in bus and trailer refrigeration service — which is exactly why it is rarely a whole-unit decision. The same crankcase turns up in machines that need a complete compressor, machines that need the shaft resealed, and machines where a rebuild kit is enough.

We carry four 05G parts. This page maps them onto the fault each one resolves, so you can buy the smallest part that fixes your machine.

17-44075-00

Crankshaft

Fault traced to the crankshaft during a rebuild

2. The Compressor — 18-00097-07

18-00097-07 is the six-cylinder 05G compressor. The listing carries the reference in three separate fields — OE number, part number and model number — all reading 18-00097-07, which makes this one of the simplest references in our range to confirm: there is only one number to match.

It is recorded as new condition and for replace / repair, with RoHS compliance stated. The product name field reads simply *Compressor*, and the size field reads *standard* — this is a unit bought by reference, not by dimension.

3. The Rebuild Kit — R-05G-41-TRAILER

R-05G-41-TRAILER is the trailer rebuild kit for the 05G platform. The title records it at 41 CFM and 2 port, which are the two performance figures that tie it to the machine it suits.

Read the listing carefully before ordering, because its own fields are not consistent with one another: the product-name attribute reads *Gasket*, while the title describes a rebuild kit. A rebuild kit is a kit-level purchase, so tell us what your unit needs and we will confirm what the kit contains rather than let you infer it from a single field.

4. Where the Other 05G Parts Fit

The two remaining 05G parts in our range cover the two failures that most often get mistaken for a dead compressor.

Shaft seal — 17-44770-00

If refrigerant is weeping along the shaft and oil traces have appeared around the clutch, the compressor is usually still sound and the seal is the part to change. 17-44770-00 is supplied both as a single seal and as a seal kit — the same reference, two ways to buy it.

Crankshaft — 17-44075-00

When a rebuild uncovers a crankshaft fault rather than a sealing fault, 17-44075-00 is the 05G crankshaft we carry. This is a rebuild-stage part, not a roadside part.

5. Which One Do You Need?

1. Compressor turns but does not cool → check the refrigerant circuit first. Neither a compressor nor a kit fixes a charge problem.

2. Refrigerant or oil traces at the shaft → start with 17-44770-00. It is the cheapest of the four and the most common 05G failure.

3. Housing sound, unit being rebuilt → R-05G-41-TRAILER, the 41 CFM 2 port rebuild kit.

4. Crankshaft damage found during a rebuild → 17-44075-00.

5. Crankcase itself failed or the core is not serviceable → 18-00097-07, the complete six-cylinder compressor.

Q1. Is 18-00097-07 the only number for this compressor?

For this unit, yes — the listing carries 18-00097-07 in three separate fields (OE number, part number and model number). You do not need to cross-reference a second number.

Q2. What does the R-05G-41 rebuild kit contain?

The listing's fields are not consistent on this point — the title describes a rebuild kit at 41 CFM with 2 ports, while the product-name attribute reads *Gasket*. Tell us what your unit needs and we will confirm the contents rather than leave you to infer it.

Q3. Do I need the compressor or just the seal?

If refrigerant or oil is escaping at the shaft and the unit still turns, the seal reference 17-44770-00 is the place to start. The complete compressor is for a failed crankcase or an unserviceable core.

Q4. What are the package and weight figures?

Both the compressor and the rebuild kit are recorded at 53 × 38 × 34 cm; single gross weight is 3.0 kg for the compressor and 3.000 kg for the kit.

Q5. What warranty applies?

1 year across the 05G parts on this page.

7. Order Quantity and Lead Time

Two numbers decide whether a replacement part is worth stocking: the smallest quantity you can order without tying up capital, and how long the goods take to leave the factory. Both are published on the corresponding Alibaba.com listing and reproduced below.

Minimum order quantity (MOQ). Standard catalogue items start from as few as 1 – 2 pieces (some blowers from 1 piece, condenser fans from 2 pieces); batch items are typically 6 – 50 pieces; customised items depend on the tooling and process involved. Small-batch trial orders are welcome — the usual route is to test the quality on a small order and scale up once it is proven.

Lead time. Production time is the interval between an order being confirmed and the goods being ready for dispatch. Where the official listing publishes a figure for the reference you need, it is reproduced in the table on this page; the exact figure for your quantity is confirmed on the quotation.

Quote your quantity and we confirm both figures in writing. Order quantity, production time and shipping method are confirmed with the quotation, so nothing depends on an assumption about your volume.

8. Certification, Testing and Third-Party Inspection

Two separate things are worth checking on any air-conditioning part you source: whether the factory's quality system is certified, and whether the individual part can be evidenced. We cover both, and both are open to outside verification.

  • System level — IATF 16949 certification for automotive quality management, with a full-process control framework built to ISO 9001 requirements covering incoming inspection, in-process control and finished-product testing.
  • Site level — the plant has passed a TÜV Rheinland on-site audit. You are welcome to arrange your own factory visit or audit.
  • Component level — core components go through dynamic-balance testing, electrical performance testing, high/low temperature testing and endurance testing on in-house instruments, with 100% incoming inspection on materials.
  • Shipment level — SGS, BV or TÜV can inspect before dispatch under a standard you nominate, such as AQL sampling. Goods ship after the inspection is passed.
  • Market access — CE and RoHS compliance declarations can be issued for fan and motor products against your destination market; FCC requirements can be accommodated for North America. Motor windings, plastic parts and metal parts are controlled to RoHS requirements.

Test data can be provided. If your quality file needs supporting figures rather than a statement, ask for the test data covering the model you are ordering.

10. Where and How This Is Made

A bus air-conditioning part is usually judged on three things: whether it fits, whether it lasts, and whether the supplier can repeat the order. All three trace back to what the factory actually controls.

What we control

What it affects on your side

Motor winding, injection moulding, stamping and assembly, all in-house

Consistency between the sample you approve and the batch you receive

Component testing on in-house instruments

The failure modes that show up in the field rather than on the bench

68 collaborating plants

Whether a peak-season or large order still ships on the promised date

12+ years as an Alibaba.com Gold Supplier, rated 4.7 / 5

A track record you can check before placing the first order

On-time delivery rate 91.2%, average response ≤ 3 hours

How much of your own planning time this supplier consumes

Founded in 2007 and based in the Xiangtan Economic and Technological Development Zone, Hunan Province, the company brings more than 15 years in bus and truck air-conditioning parts, employs 80+ people over 5,000 – 10,000 m², reports annual sales of over 90 million yuan and an annual output of more than 800,000 units, and exports to more than 50 countries.

The automatic motor winding machine and stators in process

Motor winding — the process that decides service life — is controlled inside the company

The production line with components staged at the stations

The production sequence is fixed and documented rather than improvised per batch

The finished-goods warehouse with export cartons staged

Goods are packed and held to an export standard before dispatch

The brand wall and the on-site certificate and reference display

The certificate record is kept and displayed on site, and can be inspected there

Verify rather than trust. Everything shown above is open to inspection: arrange a visit, or send your own or a third-party inspector (SGS, BV or TÜV) before dispatch. The photographs are of our own shop floor and are not stock images.

12. Markets Served and Brands Cross-Referenced

Region

Typical buyer

Middle East

Aftermarket wholesalers, fleet workshops

South America

Replacement-parts distributors and repair chains

South East Asia

Wholesalers and air-conditioning conversion workshops

Eastern Europe

Distributors and fleet maintenance operations

Mexico, the UAE and the Philippines are the three largest single export markets. Alongside the regional trade, the company supplies fleet customers and air-conditioning conversion workshops that buy against a vehicle list rather than a part number.

Cross-referenced replacement coverage: SPAL, Valeo, Thermo King, Webasto, Scania, Yutong, DAF, Mercedes, Volvo and Hwasung Thermo. Where an unconfirmed match is possible, we say so and propose sample verification rather than shipping on an assumption.

13. Four Customisation Routes and How They Run

Most suppliers offer *customisation* as a single word. In practice it splits into four different projects with four different lead times, and knowing which one you are asking for is what keeps a programme on schedule.

1. ODM private label — we build the part we already make and apply your identity: silk-screen, label, packaging box, instruction sheet and warranty card. Fastest route, lowest tooling exposure.

2. Sample-based reverse engineering — send an old, damaged or genuine part and it is stripped down, measured, material-analysed and reproduced by parameter. Useful when no drawing exists and the original is unavailable.

3. Full customisation to drawing — dimensions, electrical parameters and mounting method built to your 2D/3D drawing or parameter table.

4. Design-based development — concept to production, including cost-backwards optimisation inside the quality limits, for applications that have no reference part at all.

Stage

What happens

Time

1. Requirement collection

Any one of an OE number, physical sample, 2D/3D drawing or parameter table starts the project — the more complete the input, the shorter the development

Immediate

2. Solution confirmation

Dimensional mapping against sample or OE, matching assessment, development plan and quotation. With a drawing and sample, no tooling is usually needed to produce a sample

Days

3. Sample production

Sample built and supplied for inspection before mass production

Approximately 30 days for standard sample-based work; new tooling depends on mould complexity

4. Mass production

Batch produced after sample approval, with first-article inspection and in-process sampling

40 – 60 days stocking, subject to process and quantity

Quality assurance across a custom project runs in three layers: dimensional mapping and trial fitting at the development stage; a pre-production sample supplied for your inspection; and first-article inspection plus in-process sampling during production, with traceable records for key dimensions, dynamic balance and electrical parameters.

14. Questions Buyers Raise Before Ordering

Q1. What is the minimum order quantity?

Standard catalogue items start from 1 – 2 pieces; batch items are typically 6 – 50 pieces; customised items depend on the tooling and process involved. Trial orders are welcome — that is the standard way a first programme is de-risked.

Q2. What are the payment terms?

Payment terms are confirmed with the quotation. Where the official listing publishes payment methods, they are shown on the ordering section of this page.

Q3. What warranty do you give?

1 year.

Q4. Can you provide samples?

Sample availability varies by reference. Where the listing publishes sample terms, a sample can be supplied at the stated sample fee. Send us the part number and we will confirm for your model.

Q5. How is the goods packed?

Standard export packaging is included: inner box, outer carton and shock cushioning, built to sea-freight standards with drop and compression sampling before dispatch. Colour printing, wooden cases and palletisation are optional.

Q6. Do you accept third-party inspection?

Yes — SGS, BV or TÜV before shipment, to a standard such as AQL sampling that you nominate. Goods ship after the inspection is passed.
