1. The Power Train Question
On a 7.3–8.2 m bus, the AC drive line competes with the vehicle's own electrical and mechanical load. The WL18F1 is engineered around a JS38 / FKX40-560K compressor (380–400 cc) — sized so cooling demand is met without excessive clutch cycling and without starving the alternator.

4. Why 380–400 cc Is the Right Displacement
At 20 kW peak, a smaller compressor would run continuously at maximum duty and still lag on pull-down; a larger one would short-cycle at cruise load. The 380/400 cc band keeps duty cycle inside the efficient zone across the full operating envelope — highway, city and idle.
