WL14DB Electric Bus Air Conditioner — High-Voltage Cooling & Heating System

EV system file EV-WL14DB | Purpose-built for battery-electric buses: high-voltage compressor drive, heat-pump heating and low auxiliary power consumption.

  • Overview
  • Recommended Products

1. Built for the Electric Bus Platform

An electric bus runs its AC directly from the high-voltage traction battery (DC 250–750 V) — there is no engine belt and no engine-driven compressor. The WL14DB is purpose-built for this: an electric compressor (LM-50) driven through a DC/DC converter, delivering 16 kW cooling and 12 kW heating for 6.0–7.0 m electric buses at a total power draw of just 4.6 kW.

4. Efficiency Logic

With only 4.6 kW drawn from the traction battery, the WL14DB adds roughly 1–2% to the bus's auxiliary energy consumption at full cooling — versus 8–12% for older fixed-displacement belt-driven designs. The electronic expansion valve (TS-6) modulates refrigerant feed continuously instead of cycling, holding capacity with less energy.

6. Buyer FAQ

Q1. Which buses does the WL14DB fit?

6.0–7.0 m battery-electric buses and minibuses with DC 250–750 V traction systems.

Q2. Does it provide heating?

Yes — heat-pump heating at 12 kW with reversing four-way valve, plus PTC option for extreme cold.

Q3. What voltage does it accept?

DC 250–750 V input through the DC/DC converter; the control system runs on 24V auxiliary.

Q4. What refrigerant does it use?

R407c.

Q5. How efficient is it?

4.6 kW total power draw at full cooling — typically 1–2% of traction battery consumption on a 6–7 m bus.
